The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its Impact Assessment Division, at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Trainee.
Duration: 5 months & Starting date: 16/01/2025
Specific Post Environment:
The Impact Assessment (IA) Division supports the EIF’s business development and strategic orientation, promoting the EIF’s transition towards an impact-driven institution. The team’s goal is to develop frameworks, processes and tools to assess the achievement of policy priorities, including the assessment of the ex-ante and ex-post financial and non-financial impacts of EIF operations.
Overall objective:
Your overall objectives will be to:
support the development of frameworks, processes and tools for the assessment of the ex-ante and ex-post financial and non-financial impacts of EIF operations;
support in creating the documentation, manuals, user guides and training material necessary to successfully deploy the EIF Impact Assessment framework.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the other members in the team, you shall:
Support the development, backtesting, and calibration of the ex-ante Impact Assessment methodology;
Support the drafting of user guide and operating manuals for the ex-ante IA grading process;
Support the implementation of related data collection, preparation and analyses.
Expected outcomes:
Support in the definition, development, backtesting and documentation of the ex-ante EIF IA methodology
- Support in tasks ancillary to the Impact Assessment framework, e.g. the ex-post Impact Assessment micro-data projects;
Support the team’s projects aiming at classifying and estimating the non-financial impacts of EIF’s activities.
Qualifications:
Competencies:
Good analytical, drafting and synthesis skills;
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; knowledge of further EU languages considered an asset;
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
Ability to work productively and under tight deadlines;
Demonstrate initiative, capability to work autonomously under given objectives and time constraints; organise own work effectively.
